This is a lovely way to have your friends participate in your ceremony. As with music, you can have complete freedom over your choice of readings in our ceremonies. Religious readings (i.e. Psalms), spiritual readings (i.e. Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet) or Children’s stories ((Dr. Suess) and song lyrics are all possible and appropriate - it’s really up to you!
Finding suitable readings can be difficult - most love and marriage poetry is clearly gendered and often feels unsuitable.
We have Ceremony Poems together from various sources and you can download these for offline viewing here. We are keen to update our collection, so please feel free to let us know your suggestions.
