Vows
This is probably the core of your ceremony and it’s worth thinking carefully about it.

This is both exciting and for some, daunting. Remember, we’re on hand to help and advise all the way.
Is lifelong sexual fidelity something important to you? Some men consider this a central part of their promises to each other, as in heterosexual marriage; but for many gay men they are less concerned about who their partner has sex with, but they may well want a promise that you will be there for each other emotionally. This may not be something they make explicit in their ceremony, but it’s important to promise what you believe you can realistically deliver.

You may prefer to use or adapt something that has been used before. You can find some of those in the Ceremony Poems and Readings document.
It is said that your vows will determine what your future life together will be like. The more you think about and care about the vows, the better things will be. Many couples write their own vows. Others adapted existing wording found in books. The basic format of wedding vows is as follows:
1) Declaration from both partners that they are willing to take the other in marriage.
2) Solemn promises from each partner to each other that they will love and care for each other, come what may.
